"Interesting proposal, leave a copy and I will present your findings to the Board"
Rules
- All members will follow the terms and conditions of the EULA. Blackspice is an adult orientated organization. Minors playing with parental permission should be advised of adult content.
- All ranks must be earned and maintained. Failure will result in demotion or removal from the organization. This does not include leave of absence or personal problems interfering with game time. The demand on the players is, of course, reasonable.
- There will be no ganking/attacking fellow clan members without express permission from the Director. This does not matter where an encounter occurred. It is not acceptable to attack clan anywhere without express permission.
- All members will treat fellow Blackspice members with respect. This is a reasonable rule.
- All members will treat fellow Clan members with respect, deserved or not. This is also a reasonable rule.
- All members will retain their player honor when interacting with Neutral and Omni-Tek. This means there will be no exploiting, ninjalooting, or any other ill-perceived behavior. Being the opposite or opposing faction does not give the right to forget the honor we must maintain as a player of a game.
- Excessive vulgarity or profanity is not allowed. It should be reserved for emphasis. For example, the sentence "Fuck, I was fucking sitting in this fucking chair and this fucking bee flew right into my fucking face" is considered to be excessive. The sentence "I was trying to debuff that fucker but it wouldn't land!" is not considered excessive.
- New applicants will have a one week probation period. Alts may be registered on the bot but will not be allowed into the organization until the probation period has ended. The point and purpose of the week long probation is to ensure the player and the organization are a fit before committing to a full join. Applicants are encouraged to add their alts to the bot and join guest channel for interactions until their probation period has ended.
- All members have paid for their account and playtime. There will be no judgment passed on how a player spends their playtime. If a member wishes to be AFK for six days, they are entitled to. They paid for the playtime and no one has the right to tell them what to do with it. The only exception to this rule is maintaining a higher rank within the organization. These ranks do have requirements to be maintained in order to keep their rank.
- There will be no selling in the organization channel. All selling should be done through the proper channels (Shopping channel, Dnet, Neutnet, etc). If a fellow Blackspice member wishes to buy your items you are selling, they are free to do so. There is no charging for something posted in organization channel chat. If you wish to give the item away free to your fellow members, then it is acceptable. There will be no advertising of goods in organization channel chat. This rule will avoid complaints and claims of favoritism. It helps support a cooperative play atmosphere.
- There is a general COMMON SENSE rule in effect for all Blackspice Trading Company members. This means that common sense should dictate your actions before committing to them. This will avoid taboo actions such as ninjalooting, over extending borrowing items, ganking without permission, violating the EULA, excessive profanity, etc etc. When your common sense suggests this may be a bad idea, please, for the love of everything good and right in the world, don't do it.
Guidelines
Suggestions for encouraged play.
- New players should be proactive in learning the game and will realize that veteran players enjoy their own playtime as much as the next person. A little patience and understanding should be exercised.
- Veteran players should remember they were once new players and will realize that any annoyance being felt is a reflection of the desire by another player to improve. A little patience and understanding should be exercised.
- Cooperative play is the primary goal of everyone in Blackspice. This means everyone should be proactive in their playtime, organize teams, suggest potential raids, and should be respectful of denials should you get one.
- It should be everyone's responsibility to ensure the cloak is raised and lowered in a timely fashion. It should be a cooperative effort that ensures we get the most use out of the large city and that players are not waiting due to someone forgetting to raise the cloak. Friendly reminders to raise the cloak are encouraged. Remaining silent to blame a fellow member for forgetting is not encouraged.
- It should be a high priority goal to educate ALL members of Blackspice, including Board Members. This means we should have a cooperative atmosphere where we strive to become proactively better at playing and share the path to this success with everyone in the organization. This would include becoming involved with making guides for professions, playfields, and other aspects of play.
- All members should realize they get out what they put in. This means that Blackspice Trading Company is modeled after a business and not a family. This further means that we empower the members to advance in rank, be proactive, and to help build a business atmosphere that one would enjoy 'working' at. The members who attain rank in the organization have earned it through play and as such, should garner a certain level of respect (See Chain of Command for more details on rank requirements). Please note respect to fellow Blackspice members is not only a guideline, it is also a rule.
- Negativity should not be the backbone of your interactions on Anarchy Online. While we, the players, handle frustration differently, we should strive to remove the negativity and replace it with more positivity as a general concept. This means that instead of saying a particular 'raid bot sucks and is a waste of time', perhaps you should rephrase it as 'That raid bot is not for me but I am glad it is there to provide a source of play for others'. This guideline is not suggesting you not express yourself as a player. It is more of a guideline on HOW to express yourself without negativity. It will allow members to express themselves freely without imposing negativity onto the other players.
- The right way, the wrong way, the new way, the old way. The game is forever evolving and changing. As such, members of Blackspice should be evolving and adapting as we play. No members should be telling another member they are doing something the wrong way. This is not speaking about violating rules but moreso which weapons they choose, what equipment, how they spend their IP points, etc. Suggestions and opinions are always welcome but we should not be imposing our way of building a character onto someone else. The member is perfectly capable of making their own proactive choices and dealing with the potential outcome. The members should remember to offer suggestions instead of demands or chastising. As always, it should be done with respect.
